Established in 2026, 51 North is a locally owned and operated consultancy, operating out of the lower North Island, New Zealand. We are proud to be a Chartered Surveying Consultancy that abides by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) guidelines and regulations, an institution setting the highest standards of professional codes of conduct in our industry over the last 150 years.
Whilst we may be the new kid on the block as a business, 51 North has over 25 years combined operational experience across multiple countries, construction sectors and roles. From defect diagnosis reports through to managing multi-million dollar retrofit solutions, initial condition assessments through to building stock long-term maintenance plans, and from timber rot assessments below the floorboards to UAV drone roof assessments in the sky.
Our history of clients have ranged from residential to commercial, educational to correctional, private to public and many, many in between.
Being seasoned property professionals, we have come to know, love and understand the built environment and what makes it tick, and more importantly, how to help our clients keep it ticking!
We enjoy our client relationships here at 51 North and work on a one to one basis directly with them. What you see is what you get. We like to keep things a little less complicated around here, and focus on delivering what you need, how you need it, when you need it. Its simple really.
Starting his career in London, England, Steve has developed and honed his skills over the last 15 years to become a highly experienced independent building surveying expert, and trusted voice to his clients.
Steve is MRICS qualified, with specialist experience relating to timber remediation & weathertightness, being an approved timber remediation expert with Wellington City Council.
